AMATA 2011 Awards, prizes, offers
Travel Bursaries
AMATA is offering travel bursaries to help cover travel cost to the conference. The Organising Committee will select travel bursary recipients on the basis of their oral or poster presentation. Successful applicants will be notified during the conference and awarded the bursary at the closing ceremony. To apply for a travel bursary you will need to submit an abstract and a brief CV with your registration.
Please note that
- local delegates (ACT) are not eligible to apply
- students cannot accept both free registration and Travel Bursary.
Early Career Investigator Award
An 'Early career investigator' is defined as an investigator who was awarded their PhD less than 10 years ago.
One poster prize of $500 and one oral presentation prize of $500 will be awarded in this category. The Committee reserves the right to award a shared prize.
Student Prizes
A 'Student' is defined as a current undergraduate, honours, masters, or PhD student.
One poster prize of $500 and one oral presentation prize of $500 will be awarded in this category. The Committee reserves the right to award a shared prize.
Student registration offer
We would like to encourage student participation with reduced costs, and an offer to waive registration fees for the first 25 students who meet all of the criteria listed below. To be eligible, you must:
- be a full time postgraduate student (or. BSc (hons) year)
- be an AMATA student member (join here to become a Student AMATA Member)
- be the first or presenting author on a submitted abstract
- register by 31 August 2011.
This offer is limited to two students per academic supervisor. Note that if the supervisor cancels their registration or the student does not submit an abstract, students who have registered for free will be liable for the full student registration cost.
