EBI Bioinformatics Workshops
AMATA is pleased to announce a number of EBI Bioinformatics workshops and seminars to be conducted in Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne, Canberra and Sydney. There are limited seats for each session!
The EBI Bioinformatics Workshops are coordinated by the European Bioinformatics Institute , Europe’s main provider of biological data, and AMATA – and are being held at some of the AMATA node locations.
The workshops combine presentations and practical sessions where users are guided through their selected databases and tools by Xosé Fernandez and Ian Longden from EBI. Training ranges from introductory level to advanced courses for API programming and advanced database querying (day 3).
Introductory-level courses provide useful background information on the databases and tools, and offer participants hands-on experience in the use of the web interfaces and key functionalities. Day one of the workshop is suitable for researchers with a biological background but little or no previous knowledge of the resources presented. Day two has more advanced applications for researchers who wish to use advanced features for more complex tasks and day three is suitable for researchers who want to write their own interfaces.
